Kolby Johnson picked up his first fly rod at age 11 at Bennett Springs, Missouri. After serving in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry rifleman, he came home and never stopped fishing. He drove from Kansas City to Arkansas almost every weekend for two years - then made the move and turned his passion into a profession.
Now he guides the White River and North Fork River full-time, bringing the same relentless work ethic he developed in the service to every trip he runs. His goal is simple: get you to the fish, make you feel like you are fishing with a friend, and send you home with a memory you will not forget.

No experience is necessary. Our guides work with all skill levels, from complete beginners who have never held a fly rod to experienced anglers looking to learn new water. We will spend as much time as you need on technique and will adjust the trip to match your skill level.

All guided trips include hand-tied flies, rods, reels, and tackle. Snacks and beverages are provided on every trip. Full-day trips also include lunch. You do not need to bring any fishing gear, just show up and we take care of the rest.

How much does a guided fly fishing trip cost?
Trip pricing starts at $350 for a half day (4 hours) for up to 2 anglers. Quarter day trips (6 hours) are $525, and full day trips (8 hours) are $600, both for up to 2 anglers. A third angler can be added to any single-boat trip for an additional $100. Group trips with multiple boats are available starting at $1,200.
Do you offer a military or veteran discount?
Yes. We offer 20% off for active military members and veterans on any guided trip. Our head guide is a United States Marine Corps veteran and is proud to honor those who served.
What should I bring on a fly-fishing guide trip?
You do not need to bring any fishing gear; we provide everything. You should bring your own sunscreen, any personal medications, and appropriate clothing for the weather. Please let us know about any allergies when you book so we can plan accordingly.
